Storage Belgravia Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Storage Belgravia in respect of the financial year ending 31 December and sets out the actions we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains. Storage Belgravia is committed to conducting business with integrity, transparency and respect for human rights. We recognise that modern slavery is a serious crime and a violation of fundamental human rights.
Modern slavery can take many forms, including forced labour, servitude, human trafficking, debt bondage and child labour. Storage Belgravia recognises that every organisation has a responsibility to be vigilant to the risk of modern slavery and to ensure that its operations and supply chains are free from such abuses.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
Storage Belgravia has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery is not taking place in our own business or any of our supply chains.
All colleagues, contractors and business partners are expected to share this commitment. Any involvement in or tolerance of modern slavery or human trafficking is strictly prohibited and may result in the termination of employment or business relationships, as well as potential reporting to relevant authorities where appropriate.
Our Supply Chains and Supplier Standards
Our supply chains include providers of storage equipment, property maintenance, security, cleaning, technology, professional services and other goods and services that support our storage operations. We aim to build long-term relationships with suppliers who share our values and who are committed to responsible and ethical business practices.
We are developing and maintaining supplier standards that make clear our expectations in relation to labour practices, human rights, working conditions and modern slavery. These standards form part of our approach to selecting, onboarding and reviewing suppliers. We expect our suppliers to apply similar standards to their own suppliers and subcontractors.
Supplier Audits and Due Diligence
Storage Belgravia is implementing a risk-based due diligence process for new and existing suppliers, with a particular focus on sectors and geographies where the risk of modern slavery is considered higher. This process may include pre-engagement questionnaires, review of relevant policies, and assessment of documented labour practices.
Where appropriate, we conduct supplier audits and assessments to verify compliance with our standards. These audits may be carried out by our own team or by independent third parties. If any non-compliance is identified, we will work with the supplier to address the issues through corrective action plans and follow-up reviews. In serious cases, or where remediation is not forthcoming, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the business relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Speaking Up
Storage Belgravia encourages an open culture where concerns about modern slavery, human trafficking or any other unethical behaviour can be raised without fear of retaliation. Colleagues, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders are encouraged to report any suspicions or evidence of modern slavery within our operations or supply chains.
Concerns can be raised through internal reporting channels in line with our internal policies. Reports made in good faith will be taken seriously, handled sensitively and investigated promptly. Where appropriate, we will involve relevant authorities and cooperate fully with any official investigations. We are committed to protecting those who speak up from detrimental treatment or victimisation.
Training, Awareness and Responsibility
Responsibility for overseeing our approach to modern slavery rests with senior management at Storage Belgravia. Managers are responsible for ensuring that relevant teams understand our zero-tolerance stance and comply with related policies and procedures.
We are working to provide training and guidance to colleagues whose roles involve procurement, supplier management or other areas where modern slavery risks may arise. This training aims to help colleagues identify potential indicators of modern slavery and understand how to respond appropriately.
Monitoring and Annual Review
Storage Belgravia is committed to continually improving our approach to preventing modern slavery. We will monitor the effectiveness of our policies, due diligence, audits and training and will make enhancements where needed to strengthen our safeguards.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary to reflect changes in our business operations, supply chains, legal requirements and best practice. The updated statement will be approved by the relevant senior leadership and made available to stakeholders.
By publishing this statement, Storage Belgravia affirms its commitment to playing its part in the global effort to eradicate modern slavery and human trafficking and to upholding the dignity and rights of all people impacted by our business activities.
